Celebrating 5 Years of DD Mau
It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 whole years since we opened the doors for the very first time at our Maryland Heights location! We opened up in February 2018 and haven’t looked back ever since. What an exciting ride it has been.
A Look Back
We opened in 2018 with the goal of bringing fresh and fast Vietnamese eats with our own unique take on them to St. Louis. Back then, our menu was much smaller that it is now. We did have many of the Vietnamese specialties we are known for from the start: Pho, Banh Mi, and Vermicelli Bowls. But over the years, we have expanded to offer more unique options like Roti tacos and Thai Chili Pepper Chicken Wings as well.
Our expansion into vegan foods is another huge part of how DD Mau came to be what it is today. Our owner Julie Truong always knew she wanted to be able to offer vegan Vietnamese food on her menu. The road was long but over time, we have slowly but surely added a wide range of vegan options to our menu. We are now a mainstay in the St. Louis vegan community and are constantly looking for new ways to expand. Our newest addition, vegan chikn, is a great addition to any bowl of pho, spring roll, rice bowl, or vermicelli bowl.
In the past couple of years, our growth has continued to accelerate. In July 2021, we opened our second location in Webster Groves. This larger space allowed us to begin serving boba tea and slushies, along with Dole Whip and soft serve ice cream during the summer of 2022.
A Look Ahead
We’re not done yet! There is so much more excitement in store for DD Mau in the future! First and foremost, we are ecstatic to be a part of the brand-new STL CITYPARK Stadium opening for the 2023 MLS season. While you watch STL CITY take on their rivals on the pitch, you can chow down on DD Mau favorites like Bao Sliders and Vermicelli Bowls. Our booth will be located on the main level of the stadium, very close to the team store, serving up a limited menu of our fan-favorite items to soccer fans in St. Louis.
Anniversary Celebration
We’re not letting our 5-year anniversary pass us by without a party! We’ll be celebrating at our Dorsett location on 2/7 with specials and a limited edition tote bag giveaway. The first 50 customers to make a purchase of $25 or more will receive a FREE DD Mau reusable tote bag! The food specials available will be as follows:
